You arrived in Versilia! And now?

 

Surrounded by Apuan Alps and flown through by the sea, Due Passi dal mare holiday home is placed in a strategic position between Toscana and Liguria, very close to absolute beautiful natural and cultural heritages. Here in detail some ideas about where to go and what to see.

Forte dei Marmi: vip favourite place, its centre is only 3 km far from our holiday home and you can reach it with a pleasant bike ride. It is the paradise of extra luxury shopping, with the possibility to make great deals every wednesday morning during the famous “Forte Market”.

Lido di Camaiore, Tonfano, Viareggio: very nice sea small towns, they all deserve a walking, also after dinner.

Pietrasanta: intimate and cozy centre full of excellent restaurants, boutiques and wine bars, but first of all recognized centre of marble manufacturing and land of famous sculptors (we only mention Botero: you can admire his masterpieces in the whole city). Pietrasanta is 10 km far from our holiday home, about 15 minutes by car.

Sarzana: very nice Ligurian art town with a big Fortress, it hosts interesting events like “La Soffitta nella Strada” and “Festival della Mente” (info: www.welcomesarzana.it). Sarzana is 25 km far from our holiday home, about 30 minutes by car.

Castello Aghinolfi: its walls are visible from our holiday home. The Castle is located on the top of a hill above Montingoso and it is open for visits on Saturdays and Sundays from 6pm and 9pm (until September, 18th).

Castello Malaspina di Massa: big and well maintained, with a great view from the city centre below and the sea. It is open for visits from Tuesday to Sunday from 10:30 am to 1 pm and from 5:30 pm to 9pm (until September, 18th).

Marble quarries and Colonnata “lardo”: Carrara and its marble quarries are famous all over the world. Some quarries are open for visits and this is certainly a unique experience we really suggest you. It is possible to plan a guided tour to the quarries with Carrara Marble Tour (www.carraramarbletour.it, phone. +39 0585.779673), leaving from Piazzale Fantiscritti. Mandatory, of course, a stop in Colonnata town to taste the famous IGP “lardo”, aged in marble bowls. Marble quarries and Colonnata are 18 km far from our holiday home, about 35 minutes by car.

Le Cinque Terre: Riomaggiore, Manarola, Corniglia, Vernazza and Monterosso al Mare, five small towns settled in the Ligurian Coast. Le Cinque Terre are coloured and intimate, surrounded by marine breeze and waves that sculpt their shape. A one day trip there is absolutely recommended! Lucca: you will love Lucca's Villas, the very ancient city walls and the amazing historic city centre which shields lots of shoes and bags boutiques, high quality bakeries and museums. Lucca is 40 km far from our holiday home, about 45 minutes by car.

Pisa
: you will love Pisa's majestic Piazza dei Miracoli, but what about Ponte di Mezzo, Lungarni and all the places overlooking Arno River? Pisa is 42 km far from our holiday home, about 45 minutes by car.
Firenze: Firenze is the Administrative Centre of Tuscany and is worldwide known as one of the most beautiful cradle of Arts and Architecture of the world, thanks to her numerous monuments and museums, especially Duomo, Santa Croce, Uffizi, Ponte Vecchio, Piazza della Signoria and Palazzo Pitti. Firenze is 113 km far from our our holiday, about 1 hour and half by car.
